I Was Such A Mess!
Not only was I obese, I was also afflicted with what *my doctor
diagnosed as Psoriatic Arthritis. I knew it wouldn't be long 'til I needed (both) knee and hip replacement surgeries.

I was in pain all the time and lived on 500 mg Naprosin caps . (The medication ate at my stomach. Ugh!
It hurts just to think about it!)

My Cholesterol was over 300 so the doctor prescribed Lipitor capsules. (it didn't work) Ugh!

The doctor told me I was borderline diabetic. My triglycerides were in the high 600's. Ugh!

I had no energy and turned into a real couch potato. And of course the remote control became an extension of my hand. Ugh!

*Dr. Forouzesh is a well respected rheumatologist/Internist, who is also an associate professor at UCLA. I love him!
When I started the Dr. Atkins diet, I told my doctor I wasn't going to take the Lipitor medication any more, and to track my results. As Dr. Atkins book reccommends, I had him do a blood test for all of my ailments.

The doctor kept warning me that the Atkins Diet wasn't a healthy diet, and my cholestrol was going to get worse. But agreed to track my results.

However, before I started the Atkins diet, the good doctor had prescribed the now forbidden Phen-Fen diet for my weightloss. If I kept taking it, I could have died! He took me off the Phen-Fen after the bad news came out. (aprox. 2 months)

Thanks to a friends reccomendation, I
found the Dr. Atkins Diet. Thank Goodness!
